The government has announced additional economic support to help businesses who have been most impacted by the Omicron variant.
Businesses in the hospitality and leisure sectors will be eligible for one-off grants of up to £6,000 per premises.
Recipients must be solvent businesses, and ratepayers in the hospitality and leisure sector. For example, a pub; hotel;restaurant; bar; cinema; or amusement park.
Grants will be per premises and the amount will be either £2,700 , £4,000 or £6,000 dependent on rateable value.
The government have also announced that local authorities will receive a top up to their Additional Restrictions Grants (ARG) scheme. This new funding is intended to support businesses who have been impacted by COVID-19 but may not be eligible for the hospitality and leisure grant.
The government has not yet issued the guidance for the new hospitality and leisure grant scheme nor the dates from which the funding for both schemes will be available. It is likely that both schemes will be open for applications in early January.
