Here are fine holiday wishes for everyone!

A merry Christmas to all!

As we approach Christmas and the end of 2021, we want to extend warm wishes to all who visit or hold Sandpoint in their hearts. For us, as for so many other rural towns around the Northwest, the past almost two years of living in a pandemic brought challenges for all the businesses and individuals who offer hospitality to visitors – as well as for those who visit and appreciate the work of the many service providers who have kept the lights on during these unusual times. Our hope for the coming year is that not only will we see the pandemic continue to recede, but that we'll all continue to find safe and considerate ways to resume our favorite activities.

Here's to a bright 2022 for us all!

Ring in the year with style

Multiple choices for New Year's parties

Who wants to party like its 2022? Multiple venues in downtown Sandpoint will be offering New Year's Eve parties; those staying in town might want to check out the live music at the Pend d'Oreille Winery and the 219 Lounge, both in easy walking distance to downtown lodging. Up on the mountain, Schweitzer is offering a New Year's Eve Tubing party for all ages with sparkler celebration at midnight. For the 21+ set, there's a a party in Taps with live music. Word to the wise: Schweitzer parties invariably sell out, so get tickets now!

'Tis the season for XC!

Venues offer premier cross-country

There are abundant opportunities for cross-country skiing the groomed trails at a variety of local destinations. Of course, up on our ski mountain, Schweitzer has more than 32 kilometers of trails; pass required. Just two miles from downtown, the Sandpoint Nordic Club maintains free groomed trails at the Pine Street Woods, with on-site ski and snowshoe rental at the Outdoor Recreation Center. And Western Pleasure Guest Ranch (pictured) has XC trails for all levels at very nominal cost. Click those links for details on each!

Ski forecast ... snow, and more snow coming!

After a thin start, Schweitzer sees abundant snow arriving

After stingy offerings from Mother Nature in early December, a series of storms that are currently under way have provided a fine dumping of snow at Schweitzer. And with a solid week of more snow now in the forecast, Schweitzer has opened most of its South Bowl, while the North Bowl runs off the Stella chairlift are opening as of December 23. Keep apprised of the latest info on snowfall, runs and chairlift operations at Schweitzer's Conditions Report.
