A reminder to everyone about the Coronavirus Project
We are going through something AA has never experienced before We need everyone's help to save our history!
We are asking all Suffolk AAs to write about their experience and their group's experience during this difficult time. How did this affect you personally and how did you manage to stay sober through it all? What changes did your group make? What did you witness?
We have 260 contributions to date.
It would be wonderful to get responses from every group.
These will be saved for future generations.
Finished pieces can be emailed to Archives@SuffolkNY-AA.Org
For those, who for whatever reason, writing is out of the question, we will interview you
Thanks for your help!
Help Needed with the Suffolk AA Archives Website!
The Archives Committee needs a Webmaster
to maintain the Archives Website — SuffolkAAArchives.com.
We have been looking for help for over a year.
Please send any all inquiries to SIA Archives — Archives@SuffolkNY-AA.Org

The AA Hotline needs you and especially your group to sign up to answer the phones.
Your group does not need to take all 14 shifts in the week. We can help find another group to share the week or fill in any gaps in the coverage. We are also looking for individual volunteers.
You do not need a physical Hotline Book to work the hotline — there is an online version available here. If you or your group do need (a) physical book(s), they can be picked up at the SIA Office or other pick-up / drop-off arrangements can be made.
The shifts run from 8am to 8pm starting on Sundays.
Any and all please inquire by emailing phones@suffolkny-aa.org.
Be the hand of AA extended to a newcomer, or any alcoholic still suffering who reaches out for help.

SIA has a large inventory of books and other items available from the AA Grapevine and AA La Viña
Your Grapevine Chair extraordinaire, Jackie, will come to your meeting in person, and set up a table with a wide assortment of books and other items.
Please email grapevine@suffolkny-aa.org to schedule your visit or to find out what she has in stock.

Service is an important part of recovery! It can help keep us sober.
There are a number of great ways to get involved with service in SIA and in our area. To learn more:
Be sure to also check the Event Calendar for service workshops and other events.
|
|
Unfortunately, meeting information is changing daily, making it impractical, if not impossible to have an up to date printed meeting list.
The Online Meeting Finder on the SIA Website is the best place to get the most up to date meeting information.
On a Mobile Phone or Tablet, click the three stacked bars on the upper right of the screen to reveal the MENU. On a Desktop or Laptop, look for the Meeting Finder menu at the top of any page of of the website.
|
|
The AA Meeting Guide App is a free of charge meeting finder app for iOS and Android that provides meeting information from hundreds of intergroups and other A.A. service entities, nation-wide, in an easy-to-access format.
Because we are limited in what information we can push to the meeting guide app, COVID Reopen Status Unknown meetings and Temporarily Closed meetings will be displayed similarly — both the group name and meeting location will be displayed using strikethrough text. (e.g. THE STATUS UNKNOWN GROUP)
