Lets get healthy in 2022
Dear Supporter
Lets get healthy together in 2022
In Hackney healthy life expectancy of men is 58.6 years (in Richmond its 71 years) with this in mind we have worked with the media trust to make Jim's story https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WVMCo22zcsU
Its a beautiful short film and we would be really grateful if you could share it with your friends and relatives and help us raise the healthy life expectancy of men locally.
Reopening Hoxton Health is due to reopen on the 10th January . We are monitoring the situation re: Covid and will let you know if anything changes.
2021 - a look backwards
We are hoping 2022 will be a simpler year to operate in, but in 2021 we closed in January due to Covid and reopened in March, and slowly rebuilt our days of operation up.
However we were still able to between March and December
- provide 1869 treatments to 678 local people.
- 848 of these were toe nail cutting appointments(all ages over 55)
- 519 treatments for people over 70 (subsided at 40% of true cost)
- 281 treatments for people aged over 60 (subsided at 30% of true cost)
- 27 treatment for NHS workers (subsidised at 30% of true cost)
- 5 treatments to people with breast cancer subsidised at 80% of true cost)
- 238 toe nail cutting home visits to people who cannot get out
- Set up 2 outreach clinics (for toe nail cutting) in GP surgeries
- Recruited 2 new therapists
- Run 1 free Mindfulness group that resulted in 30% reduction in anxiety for participants
- Sent out 1000 newsletters by post to people who are not on the internet
- Submitted 20 funding bids of which 8 were successful and 3 we are still waiting for results
- Raised £76,540 to continue our operations and subsidy - £30,000 of this is for forward contracts for next 18 months
- Incurred additional £ 3,949.35 costs due to Covid (cleaning and airing between appointments)
- Recruited 5 new management committee members (since January)
- Bought back 2 volunteers and recruited 5 new volunteers
- Worked 1 volunteer consultant from the Cranfield Trust

Gift cards - Treat your friends and family to treatments at Hoxton Heath
We are selling gift cards - you can buy a treatment or put some money towards a treatment for your friends or family or even better ask them to buy you a treatment! We can take these orders over the phone as well as in person. When you buy a gift card we will set up an account for the recipient and add the funds to their account, if you buy over the phone we will need you to pay by bank transfer and can post the cards out to you.
Covid Precautions
As the new variant spreads we are continuing our safe practices at Hoxton Health.
- We require people to wear masks when they visit us,
- We require people to sanitise their hands when they enter the waiting room,
- Where possible we request that you do not arrive too early for your appointment and do not bring someone with you so we can minimise the amount of people in the waiting room.
- We will continue to ensure there is a lot of ventilation in our premises and wipe surfaces down.
