Celebrating Success & Setting Intentions

New Years is my favorite holiday. I like that it’s an event not tied to consumerism, and its associations are around reflection, goal setting, fireworks, and cherishing friendships. And champaign🍾, I also like champaign.🍾

As we head into another uncertain year and I take stock of what occurred over this trip around the sun I plan to set some easy goals like breathing, eating, speaking truthfully, resting, and being nice to myself and those around me.

When faced with larger, more ambitious goal-setting I like to think about how I want others to introduce me or even what I wish to have included in my eulogy. I know that sounds dark but it helps me think big and reminds me that life is a marathon not a sprint.

If you're pondering what you want to accomplish next year without running yourself ragged, I encourage you to join me in thinking about what you'd want said about your life. Then take the first step, draw the first line, or just say it out loud. To help, I created a printable “2022 Goals” worksheet for you to brainstorm some ideas. Scroll down to see it or grab your copy here. I wish you great success in setting meaningful intentions for next year. I promise good things will happen!

2022 Goals Worksheet
Queen of the Whalebirds

I want to paint a mural…

Only you, dear readers, get to see the horror of the rabid Chihuahua monster and her eventual taming…

I'm still reviewing 2021 and finishing my art goals for next year. If you'd like to try this approach for yourself, here are the high level steps that I used to realize my goal of painting a mural:

  1. Dream it up.

  2. Say it out loud to yourself and loved ones.

  3. Start small and have fun.

  4. Give yourself permission to keep exploring.
