SAPO's head Selection Commission refused to announce the winner

On December 21, after conducting and scoring the interviews of the finalists of the competition, the Selection Commission refused to certify the established winner Oleksandr Klymenko without any substantive reason. Instead, they tried to further block the appointment of the new SAPO head (see the video summary).

As a result, G7 Ambassadors’ Support group made a harsh statement criticizing the blockage of the appointment of the SAPO head and reminding Ukrainian leadership about their declared commitment to conduct the anti-corruption reform.
Moreover, on December 20, the notorious Kyiv District Administrative Court made an illegal ruling (see the full analysis) that voided the entire work of the Selection Commission through the cancellation of its Rules of Procedure. The decision has not yet come into force, but if it is supported by the appellate court, the entire selection process shall start from scratch.
On December 24, the Selection Commission held another meeting, but the attempts to approve the reasonable decision and nominate Oleksandr Klymenko as the next SAPO head failed due to the sabotage of the process initiated by the Office of President.
AntAC calls for sanctions against Oleg Tatarov
The AntAC has added the profile of deputy head of the Office of President Oleg Tatarov to the “Visa Ban Kremlin Agents” project’s website. We gathered information on his career at the Ministry of Internal Affairs during the presidency of fugitive Viktor Yanukovych, close connections with Andriy Portnov, scandalous corruption cases, anti-Western rhetoric, and attacks on anti-corruption infrastructure.
What's going on with court cases against Viktor Yanukovych
Recently, Viktor Yanukovych sent the appeal to the scandalous KDAC claiming the Parliament had no right to remove him from the office. It is obvious that the lawsuit was submitted to the wrong court and after the expiration of the statute of limitations. Clearly, this lawsuit is just a part of Russian propaganda. However, the existence of only one treason verdict against Yanukovych gives him the opportunity to claim political persecution. That is why it is very important to finally prosecute him based on corruption charges

Why Ukraine’s Fight Against Corruption Scares Russia (by Daria Kaleniuk and Olena Halushka) - Foreign Policy
"If the West is serious about defending democracy, Ukraine is the right place to prove its words with deeds. Right now, Ukraine’s democracy is facing an existential threat from Russia. The biggest support the West could give to sustain domestic reform achievements would be helping the country hold its ground against external aggression.
This could be done by delivering more weapons to Ukraine and imposing harsh economic and political sanctions against the Kremlin before it makes further moves against Ukraine, and targeting Russia’s strategic corruption—a tool it uses to reach its geopolitical goals—by putting personal sanctions on oligarchs from Putin’s inner circle and their family members.
Modern Ukraine is a battlefield of the future against the past, democracy against autocracy. Losing Ukraine will mean losing the global war for democracy."
