My apologies to those of you who tried to tune into the cantata last Sunday on Zoom. I learned about the audio problems after it was over. I borrowed the Methodist's feed for the video posted to our church website, so you can watch and listen (and actually hear) there. I do not anticipate any such technical problems tonight at our Christmas Eve Service, which will be held in the Town Church as well as on Zoom at 7 pm. We are very excited to have special music from the Markey and Mihelic families! You can read the bulletin for our Christmas Eve Service here, and a list of dedications for poinsettias and wreathes in and around the church here.
On Sunday, December 26, we invite everyone to come comfortably dressed, perhaps even in pajamas, to the Town Church for worship at 11 am. The bulletin for that service is here. I invite everyone also to think about a favorite past Christmas memory, and/or what Christmas means to you, and there will be an opportunity to share those stories in worship.
Looking ahead into the new year, John Dan will preach for us again on January 2. We will begin a confirmation/new member class during Sunday School at the Town Church starting January 9. Our curriculum will be based on Being Presbyterian in the Bible Belt by Ted V. Foote, Jr. and P. Alex Thornberg. We will purchase books in advance, and may split into two groups, so please let me know if you are interested in the class by January 3 so I know how many books to order.

Loving God, each new day you fill the world with light for our work and recreation. As we go to our daily tasks, teach us to live as your faithful children whose eyes are open to the light of Christ. Where there is uncertainty or falsehood, help us see your truth. Where there is division or conflict, keep us in your love. Enable all that we do or say to bear witness to our inheritance as children of God; through Jesus Christ, your beloved Son. Amen.

Household Prayer: Evening
Holy God, evening falls upon us, but darkness cannot overcome your light. In all that we have faithfully accomplished this day, your light has illumined our way. In all that we have truthfully spoken this day, your wisdom has guided our judgment. In any way we have strayed, may your light reveal our fault and your wisdom correct our folly. Let us rest from our labor, trusting in your love for all your children, and let us begin tomorrow with renewed strength to live according to your will. Through Christ we pray. Amen.
