👋Hello friends,

Welcome to The Strive Journal, this week will be a bit different than the typical format to wrap up the year.

I'd like to start this journal by saying thank you. Yes, specifically you. Those that read this journal weekly and let me know by reaching out, sharing the journal, sharing insights, replying, and engaging with it. I'm so grateful that friends, family, and newcomers who have found this journal give me an accountability platform to improve my writing and communication each week.

Thank you!

On another note, I want to announce that I'll be taking a break from writing this weekly journal. To be honest, I'm not sure what that break looks like currently but I'm giving myself until February 15th to figure it out. So although I might send a surprise email within that time, don't expect one.

The consistency of this journal has been incredibly important to me. Since the spring of 2017, I've delivered a chain of nearly 100 newsletters. I'm proud of this and happy for the growth it's brought, but after quite a bit of thought, it's not leading to the results I seek and it might be distracting to them. So I'm going to take some time and focus my effort on other objectives. In the meantime, I'll think about how I'd like the future of this journal to look.

I will continue to write and post, but I will not have a set schedule for this journal.

🥂 I hope you've had a fantastic holiday and a happy new year!

Let's begin.

1) Reflecting

🖋️ A new exercise I started in 2020 is thoughtfully reflecting on each year and publishing highlights on my blog. Not to simply set resolutions but take time to zoom out on the year passed and extract helpful insights to direct and improve future years.

Also, I'm forgetful but love the feeling that comes with recalling a good memory, so investing a few hours each year to collect and store memories ensures future doses of nostalgia.

📖 The blog is based on this reflection guidebook I made last year and updated for 2021. Feel free to download and print a copy for yourself to track your own progress and insights.

2) Collections from 2021

✨ I love year-end collections of data. I've gathered a few of the popular ones here that might interest you:
