Letter from WCFR President Jacqueline Cassagnol

▣ DECEMBER 2021

Dear WCFR Supporters,

Although 2021 has been a tough year, we are appreciative for your ongoing support and we wanted to express our gratitude this holiday season.

Worldwide Community First Responder, Inc. could not have gotten through this year without coming together as a community and responding together to the greatest needs of our community members locally and abroad. With your help we were able to:

  • provide health education, CPR, and disaster preparedness training in Haiti and the USA.
  • provide scholarships to college students pursuing a healthcare profession in Haiti and the USA.
  • create educational materials and videos such as: “Be a Lifesaver: Learn about COVID-19”, “COVID-19 and Your Heart: Learn how COVID-19 affects your heart", and “Follow these steps to watch your hands the right way” reaching over 42,000 community members.
  • provide face masks and hand sanitizers in Haiti and the USA to combat the corona-virus.
  • distribute bikes in the USA as part of our “WCFR Bikes for Kids” project sponsored by Waste Connections, Inc.
  • assess needs, deliver life-saving aid and education about disaster preparedness Post August 2021 Haiti Earthquake and Hurricane.
The work continues, but it’s nice to stop and reflect on the past year. We are grateful for all of our supporters such as yourself for being there as a pillar in our work. We wish you and your family a wonderful holiday season.
With thanks,
Jacqueline Cassagnol, MSN, RN, PMC
Founder & President

BREAKING NEWS!

WCFR just received almost fifty toys for our "WCFR Bikes for Kids" project sponsored by Waste Connections Inc. It was extremely difficult to get bikes this year, instead we got some toys from Walmart. We are so excited to make some kids smile. Special thanks to Waste Connections Inc.

MARGUERITE THONY
SCHOLARSHIP AWARD RECIPIENT

“Just a little over two years ago I was a senior at Spring Valley High School and now I am, a junior at Brown University preparing for the next chapter of my life. The transition to Brown was not the easiest. Initially, I struggled academically. Coming from a place of not much privilege and matriculating to a school filled with people of immense privilege that prepared them for world of elite academia, I had to work extremely hard to overcome my imposter syndrome. But in finding community in the spaces I choose to be apart of, I was able to remind myself that I do belong here. Now I can say I am thriving not only academically, but also socially!

I am forever thankful for all the people including Jacqueline Cassagnol and her team at WCFR who had sewed seeds into my journey.”
