Winter greetings from your Extension Forester!

With the recent snow here in the Willamette Valley area, predictions of a relatively cold winter seem to be holding up. The current outlook from the National Weather Service predicts below-average temperatures, average or above-average precipitation, and heightened chances for valley snow/ice through the winter. But I am hoping we get enough breaks between snows to allow for tree planting before mid-March, at least for folks below 1500 feet elevation.  Read Glenn's full letter

Best wishes for staying healthy and getting out in the woods this season.

OSU Extension Forester, Clackamas, Marion, Hood River Counties

June 2021 Heat Impacts Explained

A recent Mini-symposium on the June 2021 Heat Dome that was organized by OSU provided a good explanation of what caused this extraordinary event and the impacts on trees across the Pacific Northwest.
