LOOKING BACK AT 2021

The continuing pandemic has placed pressure on many of us in this past year. In addition, the network mourned the loss of colleague and Trails & Sustainability Task Team Co-Chair Natasha Luzhkova. A very generous pledge of $10,000 has been made from the Literary Estate of Margaret and H.A. Rey through the WTN Hub for the Americas to support a fellowship in memory of Natasha. For more information on how you can support this fund please contact Nat Scrimshaw.

Throughout 2021, the network continued to move forward with preparations for the 2022 World Trails Conference scheduled in Nepal. We also launched the monthly Trails Talk Series of webinars and dialogues, held a special online World Trails G7 Summit with representatives from trails around the world participating in the official G7 Fringe agenda, and we also reached out to youth offering our support for the establishment of a networking forum of Young Leaders for Trails. Finally, in case you missed some of the discussions going on within our trails community during the year, you can still catch-up by reading our various blog posts.

We are also happy to share the much delayed Annual Report from 2020 with you.
