From Our House to Yours

As the holidays approach and we prepare to ring in 2022, please accept our heartfelt thanks for your support this past year. Whether you have given of your time as one of our amazing volunteers, said your final goodbye to a loved one at Rotary Hospice, participated in one of our events, dedicated a Light of Love or donation to the memory of someone special, or followed us on social media, you are a cherished member of our Hospice community. We hope that this holiday season is one of warmth, joy and tranquility.  Thank you for making this and every time of the year brighter for us. We wish you the happiest of holidays!

Grief and the holidays

"As you approach the holidays, remember: grief is both a necessity and a privilege. It comes as a result of giving and receiving love. Don’t let anyone take your grief away. Love yourself.  Be patient with yourself.  And allow yourself to be surrounded by loving, caring people."

A beautiful article on learning to be patient with yourself by Alan D. Wolfelt, Ph.D.
On Thursday, December 2nd we lit up Rotary Hospice with love by officially launching the 3rd annual Lights of Love Holiday Campaign. Our sincerest thanks to all who joined us for this virtual event, to our sponsors, and to those who have dedicated a Light of Love in honour or in memory of a loved one. We hope you take comfort in reading the names and touching messages of love.

Should you wish to make your own gift, you may do so until December 31st. Together, you are not only adding seasonal sparkle to Rotary Hospice you are bringing light and love to those who call it home on these dark December nights.

"This is the season when people of all faiths and cultures are pushing back against the planetary darkness. We string bulbs, ignite bonfires, and light candles. And we sing." (Anita Diamant in Tablet, December 2019).
