Parish News ... be in the know!

You are invited to be part of our last Advent worship gathering before Christmas. This week our theme will be Advent Love.
Service times this week are 09:30 - (My Vaccine Pass required), and 10:45 (My Vaccine Pass not required). Remember to BYO Morning tea.

In good weather, we will be packing out some chairs to make it a little easier to attend our outdoor gatherings. (You are, however, most welcome to bring your own if you so prefer.) In rainy or very windy weather we will gather inside the sanctuary.

Note:
Our leadership has acquired two gazebos to provide some shelter and shade for our outdoor worship gatherings. Further to these, the leadership also enabled good audio at these gatherings with the purchase of a portable microphone and speaker system. (Quite the upgrade to our humble start.)

See you on Sunday.
Werner.

Christmas weekend

By now you would have seen our planning for Christmas Eve and Christmas Morning. With only a week left before Christmas, I am starting to feel quite excited about these gatherings and I hope to see many of you there.

We do need your help to make the Christmas Eve services run smoothly: It would be great to have a variety of people involved in reading the passages from the Bible that tell the Christmas story. Please contact Ruth (office@hibiscuscoastpresbyterian.org.nz or 094264502) if you are willing to help out at one of these services.

Ps. Weather will not impact these gatherings. We plan to gather and enjoy the summer evenings in our garden, but should bad weather turn on us, the gatherings will simply move inside our sanctuary.

Important information for January 2022

At the last meeting for the year, our parish leadership discussed the challenges surrounding gatherings at HCPC during January, when our minister will be away on annual leave. It was decided that we are not going to host any in-person worship gatherings during this time.

Rev. Werner is working at recording devotions that will continue to be sent out via email every week. Furthermore, our leadership strongly encourages everyone to organise and gather informally during this time, to share in the reading of the Bible passages, to share in prayers for our people, and to strengthen the community of believers through sharing of faith.

Please take note that our Church office will close on Christmas Eve and open again on January 19, when Ruth returns to work after a well deserved holiday break.

Covid-19 Protection Framework: move to Orange on December 30, 2021.

The regional move in the Covid-19 Protection Framework, to Orange, will not have an impact on our planned gatherings for January 30 and February 2022. We remain committed to providing in-person and online options, to both people who prefer to meet with a My Vaccine Pass, and those who prefer to meet without it.

We are to resume our worship services on Sunday, January 30th 2022. Please keep an eye on our website for the most up-to-date information.
