Storytime returns January 13!
Kids in our community love storytime! We are taking a break for the Christmas holidays and will return January 13 at 11 a.m. Hope you join us!
The Friends of the Elkins Public Library have a meeting tentatively scheduled for 6 p.m, January 25 at the Library. Sign up now to get any updates on the meeting. Friends is a 501c3 that supports the library's programs through at least two fundraisers each year. We would love to have new ideas and energy to grow this organization and its reach!
Applications are available at the library. There is a $10 fee for joining. Questions? Contact Linda Maple.
Still Accepting Donated Reading Glasses!
Thank you to everyone who has donated so far! The library is a drop-off donation point for Every Soul Matters, which does a monthly outreach to the homeless at Walker Park in Fayetteville. Many of the homeless in the nearby community are older and struggle to read without reading glasses. They are also setting up a mini library during the outreach! Library Board Member Eve Owens is the point of contact for this program. Her email is emowens@gmail.com.
Knitting Club Welcomes All Crafters
Did you know that a Knitting Club meets every Thursday (that the library is open) in the Library's Community Room? You don't even have to knit to join! Any crafter is welcome to come every Thursday from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. Questions? Ask Trish in the mornings by calling the Library at 479.643.2904.
EREC/eCybermission/Tinkersquad returns in January
Elkins Robotics Electronics Club is on break until January when eCybermission meets January 5 and TinkerSquad January 12.
EPL Closed for the Holidays
We will be closed December 23, 24, and 31 for the holidays. Come in before then or before the 31st to get some great reading material or movies!
Yoga with Danielle
Did you know that we host yoga nearly every Tuesday and Thursday at 6:15 p.m. at the Library? Yoga with Danielle Dozier is a fantastic and fun introduction to yoga. She posts her monthly schedule (and any schedule changes) on her Facebook page.
We had fun with the kids who came December 11 to decorate ornaments! Don't forget to pick yours up on December 21.
Our Library Board held a QA with the public and city council during our regular board meeting earlier this month. Thank you to everyone who came to learn more about how the library operates!
We have several things in the works for 2022 at the library, including coming up soon in January! Keep watch on our Facebook and newsletter for events including voter registration drives, fun fundraisers, and other activities.
That any library member can schedule the community room ... for free? No sales are allowed. Contact the library for more information and to schedule the room.
You can register for a library card online or in person? You just need a valid picture ID and proof of address.
