This workshop will discuss the development of hybrid approaches that bridge the gap between traditional stock assessment models and spatial ecosystem models and bring together interdisciplinary experts in stock assessment and ecosystem models.

Pathways for Connecting People and Seagrasses


Date: 3-5 Oct 2022
PATHGRASS will assemble an interdisciplinary research group to identify and articulate new bases and tools in the study of human-nature connectedness in seagrass habitats. This workshop will act as a seed for visualizing and understanding the diverse values of seagrass habitats and trigger sustainable transformation expanding the social dimension into the marine systems.

Predicting Anthropogenic Impacts on Ecosystem Functioning Using a Response-Effect Trait Framework


Date: September 6-8, 2022
This workshop will bring together a consortium of 15+ experts in marine functional ecology spanning empirical, theoretical and applied backgrounds to discuss a) What is the extent of variability in trait responses to environmental pressures in marine benthic ecosystems? and b) Do response traits driven by environmental pressures correlate with effect traits impacting ecosystem function and associated biogeochemical processes?

Joint Call for Proposals on Underwater Noise in the Marine Environment 


The overall aim of the call on Underwater Noise in the Marine Environment is to decrease the existing high levels of uncertainty and to promote specific lines of research that will contribute to the implementation of the Marine Strategy Framework Directive (MSFD) at regional sub-basin scale, and, therewith, contributing to reach the Good Environmental Status (GES) of the European seas and oceans.
