A new module is available for the Cyber Security Advanced Ethical Hacking course.

Bash Scripting for Ethical Hackers covers several Bash scripting techniques. Students will learn how to script a ping sweeper, port scanner, reconnaissance hunter, web app enumerator, and credential harvester.

REVIEW THE NEW MODULE

We have a new addition to the Cyber Story series! These videos consist of interviews with cybersecurity professionals at all career levels and backgrounds. We know the options for cybersecurity careers are nearly endless and the people working in cybersecurity all have a unique story to tell. 

For our next video we spoke to Dana Painter, a high school teacher in Augusta County who spent the majority of her career in the human resources industry. She is now an educator, spending her time not only informing students but herself of all the opportunities cybersecurity has to offer. Watch to learn more about Dana's cyber story.
2021 PRESIDENTIAL CYBERSECURITY EDUCATOR AWARD WINNERS ANNOUNCED
The Presidential Cybersecurity Education Award, now in its second year, is presented annually to one elementary educator and one secondary educator. Awardees are selected for their superior accomplishments as educators, academic achievement indicators, and leadership contributing to the field of cybersecurity. 

Congratulations to this year's recipients:

  • Sergio De Alba, R.M. Miano Elementarty, Los Banos, CA

The SANS Institute (SANS), the global leader in cyber security training and certifications, announced the winners of the SANS 2021 Difference Makers Awards.

The winners include Randy Marchany, the Chief Information Security Officer of Virginia Tech and the Director of Virginia Tech's IT Security Lab. He became an instructor at SANS in 1992 and was one of the original authors of several security benchmarks published by the Center for Internet Security. He was one of the founders of the US Cyber Challenge project.

Virginia Cyber Range resources are limited to faculty/students at Virginia high schools, colleges, and universities.
