The Peer Mentoring Application is Open!
If you're interested in becoming a You First peer mentor, fill out the application located at https://youfirst.vcu.edu/resources/you-first-mentors/. You'll find details about the program there, too. The first year of mentoring runs concurrent with training, and mentors who continue to mentor after the initial year are eligible for a stipend of $250 for the fall semester(s).
Perks of mentoring include being better connected to the university, paying forward what you've learned about college, getting to know other first-gen students, growing your circle of friends exponentially, improving your leadership skills, etc. It's also a great opportunity to advance your network and skill sets. You can check out the current mentors and read about what they love about mentoring at https://youfirst.vcu.edu/resources/meet-the-mentors/.
Applications are due February 7th. Current mentors do not need to complete the application.
Email youfirst@vcu.edu with any questions!
