Happy Friday Night!
Tonight I'm sharing with you a recent blog post that I wrote about using a steamer to erase the crease lines that appear in finished knits after you have blocked them! It's just a simple little trick you may find helpful the next time you are finishing up a project.
It's inevitable - when you wet block and lay your knit flat to dry, creases will appear at your fold lines on the sides. They often will just relax with time, or sometimes I just don't mind them (or they're helpful because they provide a little structure). But in some knitwear I just prefer not to have them because it may affect how the piece drapes or looks. A great example of this was in my new Low-key Cowl...
The picture above shows the after-blocking crease line. Not a huge deal, but I preferred to get rid of it because I wanted some versatility with how I would wear this cowl and I didn't want the crease line to potentially fall right in the front. Below is what it looked like after a little steaming!
Like magic the crease line is gone! Check out my blog post below for more details about how I did this and some other steaming tips.

In case you missed it...

And in case you missed the news last week, Low-key Cowl is my brand new 1 skein neckwarmer pattern. It features simple knit and purl stitches and a hi/lo split hem (plus it includes a video tutorial that walks you through exactly how to work the split hem technique!).
During my design process I actually knit up 3 different Low-key Cowls, in 3 different colors of Malabrigo Rios - shown below in Frank Ochre (yellow), Purpuras (purple) and Sunset (Orange):

Our 10-year-old dog Alice insisted on being a part of the cowl photoshoot :)  I hope everyone has a great weekend!
