This is a long email from me. But there’s a lot in it, and I promise there’s something BIG for you in it...
I hope you’re winding down your work and getting some much-deserved time off before the end of 2021.
I am trying to do that this week and next — and struggling to do so, honestly. But my battery was in the red last week. Now it’s getting to yellow, and I’m hoping to go into Airplane Mode FAST.
I just finished sharing all of this in our Year-End Member Huddle yesterday with a great group of members. (It was so good to see you all and hear your wins and challenges and lessons!)
Here are the highlights —
POST STATUS IS COMMUNITY.
When I became a partner here in 2020 and then took over in May 2021 from our founder Brian Krogsgard, I’ve been continuing to lean into the power of Post Status as a community more and more.
And I want to set something straight...
We’re not a news organization.We are a Community.
I’ve been trying to share/correct this in every conversation or message I have.
TBH, I didn’t sign up for this to run a news organization... I did it to lead and grow a community of like-minded people, doing life and working together. Particularly my amazing friends and the people of WordPress.
Sure, sometimes we might break news, like the Pagely acquisition. But mostly we collect and curate the news and offer our opinions, analysis and commentary for you — we are the TL;DR of WordPress happenings if anything.
What brings us together is we make our living with WordPress, leading and building the Open Web.
But specifically, we are the Professional Community of WordPress and the Open Web.
It’s all about people. And specifically, YOU.
You are my people and this is my professional home.
And anything we do here is to serve and support WordPress professionals and entrepreneurs, from Slack, events, to the content we publish.
If you haven’t joined Post Status yet, you may join as a Business or an Individual.
📝 If you decide to click publish on a year-end blog post … please share in #club — we’ll be doing a reflection roundup in next week’s email.
