Dear Friends,
It is a cold snowy morning in Caroga Lake and I am writing this as I listen to the Caroga Arts musicians rehearsing for tonight’s concert as part of its Winterfest series. I feel the holiday spirit moving me as I am filled with gratitude for what the Caroga Arts Collective has brought to our community and for all of the support you have provided to it. In return for our support, they are helping us all to build friendships and pull together for the common goal of making Caroga Lake a vibrant community once again.
Just yesterday when I went over to see the fantastic renovations to the carousel, I ran into a man who brought his family to show him where he used to spend his summer as a child. Even when Sherman’s is closed for the winter, people come by to relive their past and want to share it with their loved ones because it made a difference in their lives. Our facilities manager Kris happened to be on hand and gave us all wonderful history notes about the carousel and then even gave them a ride!
There is so much still to be done as we have great plans for building an amphitheater to match the status of the world class performers who come here each summer. We are such a small community, so to continue bringing these incredible musicians here, we need your support. I promise to do my very best to raise money from sources beyond Caroga Lake, but as you wrap up 2021, please think of us for a Christmas gift, be it a stocking stuffer or something big enough to fit under a tree. Any amount is tax deductible and deeply appreciated.
