It's no wonder Christmas is the Northern Hemisphere's Most Popular Holiday of the Year.
Christmas falls just 4 days after the Winter Solstice (The Longest Night of the Year).
Since prehistory, the winter solstice has been seen as a significant time of year in many cultures, and has been marked by festivals and rituals. It's not surprising that so many people from around the world embrace Christmas as a time to gather with family to feast and reconnect.
Why not add some fun to this week and take in a solstice event.
In Toronto: Roncesvalles United Church 416-536-1755 is Welcoming Back the Light with a Solstice Gathering Monday, December 20th at 7 pm. The labyrinth in High Park. Bring a lantern and a thermos of something hot! Walk the labyrinth, share an ancient Solstice circle dance and spend time enjoying the quiet of the darkest night.

Stress-free Home Stretch! This week we'll clear and clean up the living room and bathroom. In that order.
Here are Some must do's and would be nice to do's for the coming week:
1. Buy all the Christmas feast food
Make your meal plan ahead of time and shop for all the food now. 2. Plan some fun for the new year
I’ve bought a theatre subscription for me and my husband. We're also investigating some events at the newly renovated Massey Hall. If you’re on your own why not get a subscription to theatre, sports or music and ask a friend or plan to go cross-country skiing or skating together. 3. Plan out your Christmas Best
What are you wearing for Christmas eve and Christmas day? 4. Do something free that makes your spirit bright
We know the best Christmas things aren’t things! Do one or two FREE activities that fill you up with Christmas spirit. Do you like touring around looking at the decorated houses, listening to music, hanging “mistletoe” in the bedroom doorway?
Do you have a friend or family member who is always saying how much they need someone to help them organize their closet, kitchen, kid's room, office . . . ?
🎅An Organizing Gift Certificate from IN AND OUT ORGANIZING may be the perfect clutter-free gift for them.
And perhaps for you too. Isn't it time you gave yourself the gift of organizing?
Until tomorrow
Happy Organizing Cathy
