Principal's Message

Thank you for joining us Wednesday night for the McGaugh Elementary School Town Hall Meeting.  The topic we discussed was campus safety. Ensuring the safety and well-being of our Sea Lions, teachers, and support staff on campus is our most significant responsibility. The unwavering support of McGaugh parents, the guidance of our district leadership, and strong partnerships ( Seal Beach Police Department, OCFA, and Military) allows us to see student safety and campus security from multiple perspectives and proactively work to give our community a strong sense of safety and security while on campus. We have quite a busy schedule this week. Students and families are excited about McGaugh Idol. Due to current COVID-19 restrictions, we have limited seating capacity. Ticket sales will be prioritized first to the families of students in the performance. Families of performers must purchase their tickets by 2:45 pm on Monday, January 24th. Ticket sales will open for all families based on availability on Tuesday, January 25th before and after school.

 

Here is some important current information:

  • Friday - 1.28.22 | Parent Morning Coffee – Thank you PTA!  Parent Morning Coffee has been a great way for parents to connect! I’m looking forward to this Friday morning’s coffee for the parents, in the courtyard, in front of the auditorium. 

  • Tuesday - 2.01.22 | 100 Days of School - We will excitingly celebrate this milestone in the school year with special classroom activities.  

  • Monday - 2.14.22 | Valentine's Day -The excitement of Valentine's Day will soon be upon us. Our Sea Lions will be so excited to celebrate the day.  We will allow Valentine's cards, candy grams, or Valentine's Day "treats" or "goodies" (pencils, cards or, store-bought, individually wrapped treats, etc.). Be sure to touch base with your classroom teacher or room parent regarding your child’s Valentine’s classroom activity.

  • Tuesday - 3.22.22 | McGaugh School Board Report - We will take a moment to celebrate our students and staff during the board meeting at 4:00 PM.

Calling All 5gh Grade Families!!!


It’s hard to believe our littles are on their way to 5th Grade Promotion this year and with that comes lots of celebratory activities.  In order to send off our 5th graders in true McGaugh style, we need your help.  Join us Thursday, January 27th at 10:30am via zoom for more information on how you can get involved. Amber Nichols and I will share the draft plan along with the various committees that need your involvement / leadership. Let’s work together to make this 5th Grade Promotion the best one yet. Our 5th Graders deserve it!

Book Fair/Family Fun (Feb.14-18)

Planning for our annual book fair (presented by Scholastic Books) and Family Fun Night is in the works and the PTA is very excited to bring back this week-long event February 14th – 18th, 2022.

We also need several volunteers to work fair shifts, plan/setup and other tasks. This is an easy and flexible way to get involved with the PTA and McGaugh!
