Last month HCA hosted a Virtual Town Hall with key legislators representing coffee producing regions in Hawai’i. HDOA and UH CTAHR officials, coffee industry stakeholders plus USDA and other researchers and regulators were among the 22 panelists.
The purpose of the event was to discuss coffee industry priorities, with an emphasis on Coffee Leaf Rust. After panelist introductions and overviews of their past and potential contributions, we hosted a round table discussion among the 75 participants and established actionable items that support Hawaii’s coffee industry.
