New design of the Asia Portal
The AsiaPortal has got a new and more flexible design, an improved search function and some new content! With the new design we are able to make more of the content, new e-resources, events, blogs, podcasts etc, visible on the frontpage. We will still be working for some time on adding more free journals and adjusting the search facilities if needed.

We would be happy to get your feedback so please feel free to send us comments or criticism via the feedback form under Help and Contact or write to us on bib@nias.ku.dk.

We are happy to welcome you to the new website and hope you will find it useful and easy to navigate around!

Exploring Republican China in the USC Digital Library: An Experimental Metadata Analysis
This exploratory study analyzes the metadata of over 1,500 items in various categories from digital collections related to Republican China (1911-1949) in the University of Southern California Digital Library. It uses data visualization, mapping, social network analysis, and other analytic tools to investigate their coverage and connections in terms of geographic locations, timeline, historical figures and events, themes, and possible social networks. The results of this study, particularly the visual mapping and analysis, will help researchers gain a deeper understanding of USC’s Republican China collections.

The Druk Journal
From the website: “The Druk Journal, now entering its sixth year, is contributing to Bhutan’s growth as a democracy and as a modern nation. It is becoming an increasingly vibrant public space in which we encourage our contributors to expand our national discourse by introducing new ideas and concepts into the Bhutanese conversation.[....]
The Druk Journal thus serves as a vehicle for the development of a community of people who are concerned about national issues and want to participate in the development of policy by thinking publicly and through conversation. Such a community of thinkers will also draw on the experience of other countries in those areas of political, social, economic, and cultural experimentation that are relevant to our own concerns."
