We know that, once again, it is a difficult and deeply anxious time for many of you.
Rates of coronavirus are very high in Kingston, like much of the country, and we need to do all we can to protect ourselves, our families and friends, and our borough. There is still much we don’t know about the Omicron variant, but let’s be cautious, and hope for a brighter 2022.

Got symptoms? Get tested
If you have any coronavirus symptoms, however slight, self-isolate and book a PCR test immediately.
New isolation rules
Under new self-isolation rules, in place immediately, anybody with coronavirus can now end self-isolation three days early - after seven days - if you have two negative Lateral Flow Tests.
The two tests must be taken 24 hours apart - on day six and seven of your isolation. If both are negative, you no longer need to self-isolate, but should remain cautious - including limiting contact and not visiting crowded spaces.
If you do not take LFTs, or one or both are positive, or you continue to have symptoms - you must continue to self-isolate for the full ten days.
In order to keep each other safe this Christmas, please wear a face covering in indoor venues unless you are exempt.
Covid passes (showing either full vaccination, proof of a negative LFT test in the last 48 hours or an exemption) are also required for entry to certain venues and events.
COVID-19 can be spread by breathing, speaking, coughing or sneezing. You may choose to limit the close contact you have with people you do not usually live with, or prioritise the gatherings that are most important to you over the holidays.
Please try to ensure there is plenty of ventilation when meeting others indoors. The more fresh air you let into your home, the less likely you are to inhale infectious particles.
