Your Kingston, Keep Kingston Safe this Christmas
We know that, once again, it is a difficult and deeply anxious time for many of you.

Rates of coronavirus are very high in Kingston, like much of the country, and we need to do all we can to protect ourselves, our families and friends, and our borough. There is still much we don’t know about the Omicron variant, but let’s be cautious, and hope for a brighter 2022.

An appeal from the Director of Public Health

Kingston’s Director of Public Health, Iona Lidington, is urging residents to come forward for their Covid vaccination as Omicron spreads rapidly across the borough. Watch her full statement above.

Get boosted over the festive season!

The booster means you are 8 times less likely to get seriously ill from COVID-19. Get boosted now to fight Omicron!
There has never been a more important time to get vaccinated. Whether it's your first, second or booster dose, you will receive a warm welcome from our fantastic NHS staff and volunteers at our vaccination centres.

You can either book your vaccine on the NHS website, or visit a number of walk-in clinics in and around the borough.
Have your questions about the booster and Omicron answered by experts

The NHS are hosting a number of webinars to give Londoners the opportunity to have their questions answered by public health experts. Find out more and register for webinars on Wednesday 22 December and Thursday 23 December.

The Muslim Council of Britain are also hosting a webinar with the GLA and NHS. Tune in this Wednesday, 22 December from 6pm to learn all about the vaccines and the new variant.
A negative lateral flow test.

Take an LFT before socialising this Christmas!

With cases extremely high, it is vital that we all take rapid coronavirus tests regularly. Take one directly before socialising or going Christmas shopping to make sure you’re not unknowingly infecting your friends. There is no better Christmas present than keeping your loved ones safe! Find out how to get your rapid tests locally.

Got symptoms? Get tested

If you have any coronavirus symptoms, however slight, self-isolate and book a PCR test immediately.
New isolation rules
Under new self-isolation rules, in place immediately, anybody with coronavirus can now end self-isolation three days early - after seven days - if you have two negative Lateral Flow Tests.

The two tests must be taken 24 hours apart - on day six and seven of your isolation. If both are negative, you no longer need to self-isolate, but should remain cautious - including limiting contact and not visiting crowded spaces.

If you do not take LFTs, or one or both are positive, or you continue to have symptoms - you must continue to self-isolate for the full ten days.
Face mask
COVID pass
In order to keep each other safe this Christmas, please wear a face covering in indoor venues unless you are exempt.
Covid passes (showing either full vaccination, proof of a negative LFT test in the last 48 hours or an exemption) are also required for entry to certain venues and events.
Limiting social contact
Open window
COVID-19 can be spread by breathing, speaking, coughing or sneezing. You may choose to limit the close contact you have with people you do not usually live with, or prioritise the gatherings that are most important to you over the holidays.
Please try to ensure there is plenty of ventilation when meeting others indoors. The more fresh air you let into your home, the less likely you are to inhale infectious particles.
A yellow gif which outlines the support offered by the Kingston Stronger Together hub. It says: if you test positive for coronavirus, we are here for you. So that you can self-isolate from home, we can help you with: food deliveries, medicine deliveries, financial support, support with your health and wellbeing.
