We have reached another Christmas and in many ways, things seem to look the same as they did last year. On closer inspection though nothing has remained the same. We have all changed in one way or another whether we intended to or not.
As a ministry we have found that this global situation has forced us to our knees to cry out to God personally for an understanding of not only what to do, but for a greater understanding of who we are. Who we are, after all determines what we do and how we live.
So God created man in His own image; in the image of God He created him; male and female He created them.
Genesis 1:27 (NKJV)
The beauty of Christmas is that God did not short cut the gift of salvation. He sent His son Jesus, God in flesh, to be born as a baby, surviving the very real threat of death from an earthly King. He entrusted Himself to the nurture and care of imperfect people in an imperfect and very human family. Jesus entrusted Himself to the process of growth and development both physically and spiritually so that He could fulfill His commission, to show us the way to the Father and then to take on our sin and its penalty, death!
He is no longer in a manger, He is risen, seated at the right hand of the Father continually speaking on our behalf.
Who is the one who condemns? Christ Jesus is the One who died, but even more, has been raised; He also is at the right hand of God and intercedes for us.
Romans 8:34 (HCSB)
For all who have suffered sickness, bereavement, loss, distress, hopelessness, despair, loneliness, rejection, there is Hope beyond hope. His name is Jesus, the Messiah, the Saviour.
