Portals - We walk through many portals throughout our lifetime. There is a literal and figurative interpretation as to what a portal might be or where the portal might take us. Certainly, a way to enter into a room, structure, another dimension or perhaps entry into another mode of thinking. Portals are a gateway or bridge into another time and space. They can signify growth and transformation. This is an open-ended premise. Think outside the box. Visionary, Surrealism, Fantastic, Fantastic Realism, Magic Realism, Inspirational, Dreamlike, Phantasmagoric, Psychedelic, Divine, Utopian, Magical, Spiritual, Mystical.

The Society for Art of Imagination was founded to form a movement where artists of Vision and Craftsmanship could unite together to create a forum for the promotion of imaginative art. The members of the Society work independently of one another in various countries yet their work shows a consistent ethos and speaks a universal language. There is a kindred spirit which is inspired by each artist's individual Vision unimpaired by language, time or distance. Since our inception we have grown to an International Society with branches all over the world.
Painting Techniques; Learning from the Dutch Masters
A New Book by Brigid Marlin

Brigid Marlin, founder of the Society for Art of Imagination, has some exciting news to share!  Her new book 'Painting Techniques; Learning from the Dutch Masters' is being published by Bloomsbury Press in London, scheduled for release sometime in March 2022.  The book contains images from many members of the Society for Art of Imagination as well as detailed information on the various techniques used by the Dutch Masters, such as Rembrandt, Van Eyck, Hieronymous Bosch, and Rubens.  These techniques were rediscovered over many years by Professor Ernst Fuchs and taught to Brigid personally by Fuchs in his studio in Vienna in 1966.  The special methods taught by Fuchs are demonstrated fully in the book, and their connection with the earlier Masters shown clearly. We don't yet have the exact publication date but it will be available sometime in March 2022, the book will be available in the UK, USA, and Canada!
