A message from the Chair

As 2021 comes to an end, we should take time to reflect on our achievements and celebrate our endurance and capacity to adapt and evolve.

Navigating the pandemic for a second year hasn't been easy.  We have had to overcome many challenges, both as a sector and as individuals.  There is no doubt that the impact of long periods of uncertainty has been most keenly felt by those most vulnerable in our community.

The State Government's significant $5.3 billion investment in social and community housing through the Big Housing Build and its commitment to delivering a 10-year housing strategy will undoubtedly go a long way towards providing a growth pipeline beyond the BHB and the certainty we all seek for the future.

This year, we have learned that we can achieve more and get even greater results together, and I thank you for leaning in and actively working towards developing thriving communities.

As we look to 2022, we are excited for the future of CHIA Vic. We have a committed Board, dedicated staff, and will soon announce the appointment of our new CEO, so stay tuned for updates.

In the meantime, we leave the organisation in the capable hands of Jess Pomeroy and Jason Perdriau.

Thank you again for being so supportive in 2021.

On behalf of my fellow Directors, I wish you all the very best for a safe, happy (and restful) holiday season.

Take care,

Trudi Ray
Chair
