Principal’s Message

Dear Preschool Families,

Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!

As the New Year is just around the corner, please allow me to say a huge Thank You to you and your child for your active participation in our Chinese Immersion Bilingual Preschool Program!

Meanwhile please allow me to extend our heartfelt appreciation to you all for the sweet, heart warming thank-you cards and gifts you've been sending in during this holiday season. What a blessing!

As you know, we have been taking advantage of the holidays to offer engaging and developmentally appropriate experiences for our students. Following a very joyful Thanksgiving party (video included in this newsletter), we just had our internal Christmas Party today. We were playing games, singing and dancing. and exchanging gifts -- really fun time for our students. You will see some of the photos in this newsletter. It is our sincere hope that next year you will all be able to join us!

Please be notified that CCACC Academy will be closed on December 24, 2021 for Christmas and December 31, 2021 for the New Year's Holiday.

Challenging as it was, our year 2021 is ending with a continuously booming Preschool Program -- all thanks to your kind, dedicated support. Our student body doubled over the past four months, hence our faculty member increased. That is just an example of how we support our core philosophy of individualized education through small class sizes.

Regarding our new move in year 2022, I am excited to announce that Ms. Saadia Perwaiz will join our Preschool in January as the Master Teacher, bringing along two decades' Montessori teaching experience and over one decade's teacher training experience. Ms. Saadia will work as our Preschool teachers' mentor, trainer, and facilitator. Welcome aboard, Ms. Saadia!

In November we enjoyed our Thanksgiving party. Kids were happily mixing up the pumpkin dough and kids were very excited when singing the Thankful song. Together we all participated in the Thanksgiving party. Children were learning the Thanksgiving vocabulary and listening to Thanksgiving related stories. For the Chinese class, children listened to Chinese songs and learned about Thanksgiving tradition. This month’s MVP is Lily. She is our outstanding student who made the most improvement in my class. It was amazing to see her participate and speak more Chinese and English in the classroom -- just a few weeks ago, she barely spoke Chinese in the beginning but now she will use English and Chinese to the teachers! Congrats Lily!!

In December, our Chinese class theme is family and Christmas, which is consistent with our English class. Once again, the students are keeping up with their great work!
Letter from Ms. Kriti
English Lead Teacher, Adventure Class
Dear Parents,

I hope you all had a wonderful Thanksgiving celebration! Thanksgiving was a great time for us to reflect on what we were thankful for and it was so wonderful to hear all the responses from the children during our circle time discussions. During this time, we also broadened our knowledge about the history of Thanksgiving and learned all about the pilgrims, Native Americans, Mayflower, harvesting, etc.

Then, during the first two weeks of December, we switched gears and learned all about ourselves and our families. A big congratulations to Matthew and Ethan for having mastered the skills to write their own names! Additionally, the children have also really enjoyed looking at the beautiful family photos of themselves and their friends. It is no surprise that the love the children have for each other has truly made our classroom a special place to be and I am elated to be a part of this little family.

Our theme for the second half of December will be about Christmas and the children have already started sharing about putting up their Christmas decorations. On behalf of everyone in the Adventure classroom, I'd like to wish you all a very Happy Holidays!
Letter from Ms. Winny
Chinese Lead Teacher, Racer & Adventure Classes
November saw our students having lots of fun studying everything about Thanksgiving and being thankful in the Chinese class. They really enjoyed learning the Thanksgiving related vocabulary, poems and songs. At our internal Thanksgiving Party, our students performed Thankful songs and dances and enjoyed making pumpkin pies together.

In December, we will focus on learning Chinese vocabulary, poems and songs about Christmas and family.

A special shout-out to the Racer Class students. They are the youngest in our school, yet they turned out to be the most disciplined and most organized class. Congrats Racer Class!
Letter from Ms. Julia (Chinese Lead Teacher, Victor & Explorers Classes) & Ms. Lindsay (English Lead Teacher, Victor Class)
Dear Parents,

November is the harvest and gratitude month. Centered around this theme, we studied in Chinese and English the origin and celebration of Thanksgiving Day, as well as a variety of Thanksgiving foods. The students sang and danced to celebrate Thanksgiving and had a wonderful time learning to make pumpkin pies.

In December, we will focus on learning the meaning and composition of the family and the Chinese and English names of family members; and we will organize students to celebrate Christmas in various forms. What made me extraordinarily proud is the Chinese Language Learning Showcase that some of our students participated in on Saturday, December 11 at our Academy Theater. In front of nearly 200 parents and experts, eight of our students including Amy, Zheng Lei, and Callen recited ancient Chinese poems and nursery rhymes. All the audiences were fascinated and amazed!
Congrats to Mira on the huge improvement she has made over the past few weeks with regards to disciplines and studies. We are proud of you Mira!
Letter from Ms. Toya (English Lead Teacher, Explorers Class) & Ms. Esther (Assistant Teacher, Explorers Class)
Hello, Parents! We must say we had an exciting November 2021. Last month we continued blending letters and learning more sight words. Thanksgiving week was a blast and the activity the children enjoyed most that week was writing and drawing different things they were thankful for. We would like to congratulate William, and Amy for being the most improved in penmanship and phonics. We would also like to congratulate Iris, and Fiona for their excellence in phonics and art.

For the month of December we will continue to strive for improvements in Mathematics, phonics skills, and learning new sight words. Lastly, to start off the New Year we will begin testing the students on both reading and reading comprehension.
