Building Inclusive Culture and Leading for Inclusion Workshops Are Here

Our Building Inclusive Culture and Leading for Inclusion Workshop Series provides individuals with the skills and shared language to communicate about the experience of exclusion (e.g., harassment, incivility, microaggressions), the experience of inclusion (e.g., feeling valued, trusted, and able to be one’s authentic self) and the tools to create inclusive culture at all levels of the organization. Our approach for sustained learning includes interactive, facilitated group discussions reinforced by post-workshop activities with teams and among small groups.

Topics in this series include:
  • Putting Values into Practice by communicating individual work styles and preferences, developing team norms for behavior, and practicing what to do if you say or do something harmful.
  • Emotional Intelligence for Better Communication by building skills of empathy, self-awareness, self-regulation and social skills to create a more inclusive workplace culture.
  • Emotional Intelligence for Groups focuses on team effectiveness by learning to recognize how emotions affect relationships and team dynamics.
  • Psychological Safety and Trust-Building to create greater team effectiveness, better communication, and an increased sense of workplace inclusion.
  • Creating a Culture of Accountability helps individuals address inappropriate workplace behavior including rudeness, incivility, and communication breakdowns.
Interested in delving deeper into these topics and discussing how you can practice and cultivate inclusion in the workplace? Sign up on our Workshops and Series page. We'd love to have you join us!

Resource Roundup: Disability and Neurodiversity

Understanding Neurodiversity
When we're ensuring our workplace is inclusive, are we prioritizing neurodiversity? Dr. Ludmila Praslova shares important recommendations, both for organizations, and for individuals who are neurodivergent that can help neurodivergent professionals excel in the workplace while owning their identity. As an individual who is autistic, Dr. Praslova also emphasizes the importance of allowing autistic individuals to lead discussions on debunking harmful stereotypes, changing exclusionary norms, and understanding what autism is and is not.

Collecting Data that Matters
How you collect data and what data you collect makes a world of difference. Without it, there is no meaningful way to measure progress. Former EEOC Chair Chai Feldblum explains in this article how and why organizations should collect helpful data on individuals with disabilities. By collecting this data, organizations can ensure fuller employment of and inclusion of individuals with disabilities. (Bonus: Take a deeper dive of the Disability and Philanthropy Forum, where the article is published. They offer a wealth of resources for disability inclusion efforts.)
