This is a short newsletter, as I know we are all busy with COVID-19 clinical care and related activities, and the PGY3s have the added commitment of preparing for their upcoming Royal College exams. Awards and Honours

Association of Faculties of Medicine of Canada (AFMC) Clinical Teacher Award

Dr. Ed Etchells is the recipient of the 2022 Association of Faculties of Medicine of Canada (AFMC) Clinical Teacher Award.  This is a huge achievement and great recognition of Dr. Etchells' excellence as both a clinician and teacher. Dr. Etchells was selected as the award recipient from among outstanding nominees from faculties across the country. Congratulations!

Call for Abstracts - U of T GIM Research Day

The 2022 GIM Research Day will be held virtually on Friday, June 24, 2022 from 12:00 to 1:30pm. We are delighted that the keynote speaker will be Dr. Vinny Arora (@FutureDocs) from the University of Chicago; details to follow.

We invite and encourage all trainees who are eligible (please see Abstract Submission Guidelines) to submit abstracts and participate at this annual GIM Research Day.  Abstract submission deadline is March 31, 2022.

The 2021/22 Acute Care Update will be offered free of charge. To receive the ZOOM videoconference link, users must register for the program in advance. Acute Care Update is open to all acute care providers including Hospitalists, Internists, Family Physicians, Emergency Physicians. Specialists, Nurse Practitioners, Physician Assistants, Pharmacists, Nurses, Fellows, and Medical Residents.
