Update on Amy...
Dear Student and Parents,

Thank you for your ongoing prayers for Miss Amy.  Please keep them coming.  As you know, Amy has moved out of Brooks Rehab Hospital and is now back with her parents; but there is still a long road ahead.  Please pray that the Lord would help them as they all continue to adjust to what life will look like moving forward.  Pray too for Amy, that she will continue to make great strides in her continued therapy at Brooks Rehab Hospital and the Mayo Clinic (outpatient care).

If you're interested, check out this GoFundMe account that has been set up to help cover some of Amy's ongoing medical costs (outside of what insurance will cover).

Thank you, and Blessings!
Schedule Highlights...
Anytime we start or experience something new (new year, new grade level, job, etc.), we will always have questions. Will I like it?  What's going to happen?  How do I do this?  What's going on?  Etc. The sad thing is, many of us don't like asking questions because we think it can make us look silly or stupid.  The Disciples even felt like that at times.  But what's worse: admitting we don't know or understand something (even if it makes us look a little silly in the moment), or continuing to live without asking the question and getting an answer?

Tomorrow at ALIVE, we are going to begin a new short series looking at how God invites us to ask Big Questions (and small ones), because He wants us to know that there are answers.  The tragedy would be never asking or seeking them out.  So come on out and join us tomorrow night as we have fun, worship and learn together from God's Word as we explore some Big Questions. Can't wait to see you there!

For those who are new or haven't heard, Disciple Now (DNOW) is a weekend retreat for students (6th - 12th).  Discipleship is what happens when a person surrenders everything to, and walks with, Christ. It is a journey that involves every aspect of life.  DNOW provides a unique environment for students to grow spiritually through worship, large & small group Bible study, service projects, along with engaging games and activities.  Through all of the above, but especially in our large group sessions, students will be spiritually challenged and encouraged by our guest speaker and music team to grow in their walks with the Lord.

Our goal is simple: We are seeking to make disciples and grow disciples

The theme of DNOW 2022 is FEARLESS - thinking about how in Christ, we are not given a spirit of fear, but one of power, love and sound judgement. With Christ in us, by the power of the Spirit, we have been called to make an impact in the world for Christ and we can do that without fear, all because of Him!  We are praying that God would create within each student a lifestyle of authentic discipleship that affects their everyday life!  Would you also pray with us to that end?

Cost:  only $75/person  (max. $150 per family)
only $40 for 1st Time Guests/Friend of a Fellowship Student
Registration Deadline:  January 14

DNOW Speaker:
Dan Elkins

Dan grew up in Atlanta & Tampa, knowing in high school that God was calling him into ministry.  After attending the University of Florida to obtain a microbiology degree, Dan became convinced that God’s plan for his life was to be a youth pastor. Following a move to N.E. Florida, God opened the door for Dan to become the Middle School Pastor at the First Baptist Church of Jacksonville.  After serving in that position for 16 years, the Lord moved Dan & his family to Fruit Cove Baptist Church to become the High School & College Pastor.  Dan has a passion for teaching & leading students to grow in their love Jesus, each other & the lost.  Dan is married to Marianne and they have with three kids (Katelyn- 15, Caroline-13 and Caleb-9). They love going out to eat, road trips & Disney World.

Pray that God would work mightily in and through Dan as he prepares to be with us.
Musical Worship led by:
The Meltons

We are excited to have the Meltons back with us again this year for DNOW 2022.  For those who don't know them, the Meltons are a wonderfully talented family who love the Lord. By God's grace, they have been able to serve their local church (First Baptist Washington, MO) as a family in leading songs for worship over the last 12 years. John has also served FBC Washington as associate pastor for almost 20 years.  John has been married to Lisa for over 30 years, and they have been blessed with six children, some of whom will be joining them at DNOW. Their heart is simply: Knowing the Spirit helps us in our weakness, we long to magnify the beauty, majesty and finished work of God by leading others to sing their hearts out to Him.

Pray that the Lord would bless and use them in great ways as they lead us in praise and worship this year.

I am excited to announce that Fellowship Students will be attending Ascend Camp again this summer.  The dates this year are June 25-29, 2022.  See below for a note from Ascend Camp Leadership on what to expect.

This year’s theme is “Walk Worthy”. Our prayer is that this theme will equip your students to live their lives in such a way that upholds the gospel. We have five speakers presenting this theme. Rick HollandOwen Strachan, and Adam Bueltel will be familiar to students who have attended Ascend Camp in the past. In addition, we are excited to have Bruce Ware and H. B. Charles join our speaking team this year. We are confident that your students will be blessed as these men expound on the call to “walk in a manner worthy of the Lord.”

This sounds awesome!  I hope you are excited too.  More details will be coming, and registration will be opening soon, but go ahead and mark your calendars now!
