Reminder: SafeSport Updates
To help our membership experience high-quality learning experiences at all program levels, Cycling BC's SafeSport and Coach Excellence Policy has been updated, effective April 1st, 2022.
As announced this past autumn, all sports leaders who attend or lead youth club practices, or adult learn-to-ride clinics are expected to hold a YELLOW certificate.
This is designed to ensure our leaders abide by the Responsible Coaches Movement, have a clear background check, and can competently teach skills in their cycle sport of choice.
Depending on your current status, upgrading your accreditation may be as simple as completing two on-demand eLearning modules ($12) or taking further NCCP training and certification.
Over the coming 4 weeks, Cycling BC will be reaching out on an individual basis to help you achieve your certificate. If you have questions in the meantime, please email us at coaching@cyclingbc.net or set up a phone call.
