I am truly delighted to be appointed to the SHLA Committee and to have an opportunity to work closely with the team in delivering effective and practical solutions to social landlords. Housing law can be a minefield for many, and I hope my many years’ experience of working in-house will help SHLA members navigate that.

Highly respected within the industry, Katrina has held a number of influential roles, including founding and chairing the Tenancy Fraud Forum, founding the Disrepair Focus Group, and was the Chair of the Law Society’s LGBT+ Division and the Independent Adjudicator for Grenfell.  In 2016 she was honoured with the MBE to services to Social Housing.

Katrina has substantial experience of working with housing associations and local authorities and regularly obtains possession orders and Unlawful Profit Orders in complex fraud and ASB cases as well as achieving fantastic outcomes in disrepair cases as well as achieving fantastic outcomes in disrepair cases. She also prepares tenancy agreements with clauses that have been reported in the national press and prepares policies and procedures for social landlords as well as working on large tenancy variation projects. She has been described by clients as ‘one of the sector’s leading tenancy lawyers’ with a ‘frank yet warm approach’ and a truly effective innovator.

We are thrilled to welcome Katrina onto the SHLA Committee. Katrina’s knowledge of, and work in, social housing will add to the strength and depth of the Committee for the benefit of all SHLA’s membership.
