Remembering
We remember Archbishop Desmond Tutu, leading anti-apartheid campaigner and Archbishop of Cape Town, who died on St Stephen's Day, aged 90.

For the Diocese, Bishop Robert quoted Archbishop Tutu's words:

"Goodness is stronger than evil; Love is stronger than hate; Light is stronger than darkness; Life is stronger than death; Victory is ours through Him who loves us."

You can read the Archbishop of Canterbury's tribute here.

We remember also with sorrow and sadness the death of David Sassoli, formerly President of the European Parliament, who died on 11 January.

In a tribute to David Sassoli, General Secretary of the Conference of European Churches, Dr. Jørgen Skov Sørensen said "his astounding efforts toward a democratic and sustainable Europe will always be cherished by the churches."
Post of the Month!
"Only in the @DioceseinEurope can the chaplain and churchwarden have a productive meeting on the slopes."
