Hi <<First Name>>,

Happy New 2022!  Wishing everyone a healthy and inspiring year, with many opportunities to gather, touch, dance, and enjoy our bodies moving and breathing.

I'm including at the end of this email info about the workshops I will be teaching at the end of the month. Both classes are open to all movement levels and interest in exploring the self through movement.  :)

I'm also slowly re-starting my work on Brutal Honesty.
The above picture is from rehearsals experiments a week ago working with ideas of color and costume. I'm questioning the objectification of the female body, and if making it one color dehumanizes it in the same way that oversexualized posing, online airbrushes, and filters do.  I wonder if the change of color creates the ability to perceive the image as exotic and erotic - I'm thinking of Avatar people and the Orion women from Star Trek.

Very much looking forward to Feb. 1st ( if as is well) I head over to Philadelphia, where I am planning on teaching and rehearsing for Brutal Honesty as well as performing Altered States - a performance conversation with Megan Bridge at Bryn Mawr College and possibly at Temple University as well.  There is a slight chance I would do an in-progress showing of Brutal Honesty as well. Due to Covid and the surge of Omicron, everything is up in the air...but we are making plans and hopefully everything will happen safely.

I'll write again as soon as teaching is confirmed, so if you are in the Philadelphia area and have immunity, you could come to the very special in-person workshop I'll be teaching on the Brutal Honesty practice.

LAST BUT NOT LEAST

Platform for Improvisation and Composition or PIC is holding an open workshop/atelier where we will meet dancers engaged in improvisation and will choose four professionals to continue working with though out 2022.
We have a little bit of funding for 2022, and we will have rehearsals twice a month up until July.
If you are based in Sofia, or close by and are interested in joining us on Jan. 23rd at 11am for meeting and dancing at ХОД - движенческа лаборатория, check out this Facebook event... or go directly the registration form here. Note that its all in Bulgarian... but if you are an English-speaking dancer living in the Sofia region, you are very much welcome to apply as well. Just email me back and I'll translate everything.

This is all from me for now. As always I welcome all correspondence and really looking forward to being in Philly again.  If you have something in improvisation and digital dance you are interested in and would like me to organize a class, just let me know.

With wishes for a wonderful new year
