Star looking for 2 feature desk apprentices

The Arizona Daily Star apprenticeship class (JOUR 405/505) has two reporter openings for the spring semester on the features desk. The class is an excellent way to get published clips and help land a job after graduation.

Send an email of interest, your résumé and three of your best published works by Monday to instructors Jeannine Relly (jrelly@arizona.edu) and Curt Prendergast (cprendergast@tucson.com)

The three-unit class runs the full semester and meets Wednesdays from 4 to 5:30 p.m. in Marshall 340 (for now). Undergrad students must have taken JOUR 306 (advanced reporting) and 208 (Law of the Press); grad students must have completed JOUR 506 (introductory and advanced reporting).

KOLD-TV offers spring paid internship

KOLD News 13, the CBS affiliate in Tucson, is searching for a paid newsroom intern for the spring to learn all aspects of broadcast, including reporting, producing, marketing and digital. You must be available 20 hours/week. Apply here. Email Jenelle Shriner, news director, with questions.

Bloomberg Business Journalism Diversity Program

The summer program welcomes students who are interested in learning about business journalism through a partnership with the UNC Hussman School of Journalism and Media and the Graduate School of Journalism at UC, Berkeley.

Learn how journalists report effectively on the economy, companies, financial and commodity markets, government and labor where wealth and power converge. 

The program will be conducted May 15-21 in New York City. All costs to participants will be covered, including travel to New York City, lodging and meals during the program. Deadline: 1/27 Apply
