The Lane County State of the County Address took place on Monday the 10th.
Joe Berney led the Address and went over the County’s achievements of 2021 as well the guiding priorities as we move into 2022. He expressed gratitude for the many individuals of Lane County that fuel our community and keep us moving forward. I'm proud of the words my colleague stated, and while we have been through, "strange, difficult, exhausting, and trying times," we will not give up our efforts to make Lane County the best it can be for our families, our friends, and for ourselves. We have many goals moving forward such as:
Decreasing our carbon footprint
Transforming our landfill to be more efficient and capable of producing energy
Adding more county-operated health clinics
We have so many opportunities ahead of us in 2022. I am committed to expanding broadband to rural communities, focusing on affordable housing, and creating resiliency where we need it most. Since taking office, I have taken on the challenges I have been faced with, and now more than ever we need to keep strong, forward-thinking leadership on the County Commission.
