Dear Clients & Friends:

On Thursday, December 30, just days before the 2022 new year, over 1,100 homes and businesses were totally destroyed or impacted by a fire that ignited over 6,000 acres across Boulder County, Colorado. While the number of impacted homes and businesses has been tallied, the total number of individuals impacted has yet to be fully quantified.

As many of you know, Whiteboard Advisors has a small, but mighty presence in Colorado. I have resided in the state for over a decade and have raised my family in Boulder County, created memories and made friends, and aided in growing our practice and professional network across Colorado. Our hearts are heavy as neighbors and friends, classmates and educators have lost everything. Luckily, not a single school building across Boulder Valley was impacted in a way that prevents students from returning to school today. But an estimated 600 students and 200 educators lost their homes—and therefore, any materials they may rely on for learning or brought home over the holiday break have been lost.

Whiteboard Advisors will make a contribution to Impact on Education, the non-profit foundation that supports the Boulder Valley School District and families in Boulder County. Funds will be used to purchase replacement computers, earbuds/headphones, backpacks, lunch boxes, books and school supplies. Additionally, funds will be used to provide sustained mental health support in schools across the district for all students, educators and families who were both directly and indirectly impacted by the Marshall Fire.

In times of crisis, many of us want to help others. We invite you to join us in supporting the continuation of learning for students in the impacted communities by making a contribution to Impact on Education. If your organization is interested in supporting the Boulder County community in other ways, please reach out by responding to today’s edition and I would be happy to talk with you about leveraging your resources and offer to assist.

If the sense of community, support and care across the Boulder County community is any indication of what 2022 has in store for all of us, I believe this year will be unprecedented.

Be well and take care of yourselves, and others.

On behalf of the entire team at Whiteboard Advisors,

Alison Griffin
Senior Vice President
