"Man must evolve for all human conflict a method which rejects revenge, aggression, and retaliation. The foundation of such a method is love..." ~ Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.

I hope everyone enjoyed this holiday weekend, as we remembered one of the great ones. We remembered a man who preached a message which continues to call all of us, today to examine our lives and put our faith into practice. A man who reminded us that all people are created in God's image and are of sacred worth.

How will you spend your day today? You have ONE chance to make great. One chance to honor God and make this day noteworthy. This day only comes once.

How can you love God and love all others as God calls us to love? Today?

As we look back to the times of Dr. King's life, let us commit today to live lives of courage, conviction and a Christ-like attitude which puts His love above all else. God placed a prophetic message on Dr. King's heart, and our country will never be the same.

Let us commit to grow past the petty squabbles that build walls and instead till fields of hope in all the lives we can. Let's place Divine love at the forefront of our lives, and trust God's path for us.

Thank God for Martin's faith, courage and love! May we honor his memory by our actions!

~ Pastor Denise

Worship Through Giving

We are thankful for your faithful support during these challenging times. Your generous giving has been vital in maintaining our ability to cover expenses and continue our church ministries. You may continue giving in-person at the indoor worship service, by sending your offering check directly to the church, or by using the church online giving feature found in the footer of the church website. It is easy, secure, and appreciated. The Online Giving option is also available while you are watching the weekly online worship service. --- Thank You

If so inspired, you may give online now, by clicking HERE.

New Bible Study
Starts
January 20 at 11 AM

The weekly Thursday bible study will resume on January 20 at 11:00 AM. This study is designed to encourage Pastor Denises' three churches to read through the entire Bible in 2022.

The study will take place at DeBows in Fellowship Hall at 11 AM each Thursday. You may also join the bible study on Zoom using the link found in the church calendar for that meeting date. Also, check the church calendar on the website for any schedule exceptions. You may access the church calendar by clicking HERE.

When we meet on Thursdays, we will listen to that day's Bible readings and commentary and discuss the past readings with some guided questions.

The study will be based on Nicky Gumbel's "Bible in One Year" reading plan. There are 4 ways to follow along with this reading plan and be prepared for the bible study.
  1. Smart Phone App --- To install the app, go to the app store from your smart phone (iPhone or Android) and search for “Bible in One Year”. Download and install the app. Each day a new reading will appear in the app along with related commentary. (Audio of reading is available)
  2. Daily Emails --- Subscribe to receive daily emails by visiting http://www.bibleinoneyear.org/ Each day you will receive an email with the reading for that day along with the related commentary.
  3. Web Browser --- Access the reading plan via a web browser by clicking HERE.
  4.  PDF File --- If you do not have access to the internet, you may click HERE to download a PDF file containing the reading plan so you can follow along using your own bible. You may also pick up a hardcopy of this document at the church.

You may contact Pastor Denise if you would like more information about this particular bible reading plan and/or the bible study in general.

Please note --- we would love for you to participate in the fellowship of the bible study, but if you are unavailable for the Thursday 11am time, following the reading plan and related commentary on your own is a spiritually rewarding way to spend your devotional time.

Food Pantry Ministry

The next Food Pantry distribution is

The DeBows Food Pantry is open on the 2nd & 4th Monday each month, 6-8pm. DeBows is using an "Appointment Only" system to distribute the food. People can make an appointment by calling 848-373-8844.

Please note: participants need to call for an appointment by 5:00 PM on the Saturday prior to the scheduled food pantry day. This gives the Food Pantry volunteers time to prepare the food for distribution. "Thank You" for your cooperation.

Construction Work
You may have noticed construction type work taking place at the church. Our new front steps were recently completed and ready for use. The new handicap ramp is in progress and should be ready soon. The church is also preparing to upgrade the outside church sign with a digital display and augment our audio/video technology to improve online service presentations.

Many thanks to Guy Raymond and the Trustees for overseeing these improvements as DeBows prepares for future ministry in our community.
