The Tradition of Giving
of Gifts on January 6th
The Three Wise Men or Three Kings, also the Three Magi is a holiday celebrated in Italy each year on January 6th. The Three Magi were distinguished foreigners in the Gospel of Matthew and Christian tradition who visited Jesus after his birth, bearing gifts of gold, frankincense, and myrrh.
Also, in Italy, it’s also Befana who goes around giving gifts to all the children, in imitation of the Three Wise men bringing gifts to Jesus. Befana looks like a friendly witch, with a mole on her face and in tattered clothes. She flies on a broom and goes down the chimneys to deliver gifts to all the children.
That's why this tradition carries on till this day, and children receive gifts on January 6th too, not only on Christmas day.
BUONA EPIFANIA!!
January 25th is National Plan
for Vacation Day!!
The need for this day became especially important when survey findings revealed that Americans were not using their vacation days since 2015. This was, in turn, negatively affecting their health, relationships, and even companies.
Use wisely your vacation days and time off - plan in advance for 2022! Check all of our journeys to Italy for this year, and keep in mind we are planning already for 2023!
