Dear Friends,
The wonder of Worship.
This last Sunday during worship, we had two boys sitting in the front row. Now these boys are friends, and as the service began I worried that they would spend the time chatting and goofing around, especially at the level of laughter we could hear coming from Flame Kids that morning.
But instead of goofing off, these two spent the service singing and connecting to God, WITH each other.
And what warmed my heart, was that when it came time for communion, these two boys watched and listened, responding loudly and confidently.
They know what we all can forget sometimes, that time together with God and each other is an integral part of our faith.
So whether you are worshipping together with us in the Sanctuary, or joining us from home, I hope you take the time to remember God’s presence in those moments and the community of God’s children that we are together.
In Christ,
Pastor Sara

Opportunities for Service
We are looking for volunteers in a few specific areas.

Teaching Flame Kids – Our Flame Kids teachers could use some help both on Wednesday evenings and Sunday mornings.
Helping with Youth Group – We are looking for a few extra Youth Group volunteers, for special events or filling in from time to time.
Directing the Choir – If you are interested in music, and leading others, we’d love to talk with you about directing the choir.
Worship Team Leader – With the new year, we are seeking someone to help lead our worship team. This position helps to organize the worship seasons and extra events as well as direct our focus.

“Dear God”
by Talisman
“Dear God, as I stand before You now,
there's so many things I just don't understand.
Dear God, how much longer can we hold on?
There's oh so much anger and love is in demand.
No more prejudice! No more hate!
One for all, for one, now can you read this?
Gotta believe, it's never enough,
Gotta believe in heaven above.
I say, all we need is Love."
Jeff Scott Soto, George Bernhardt, “Dear God” as performed by Talisman, from the album Humanimal, Part 2 (Empire Records, 1994) CD, ERCD 1011 (Warner/Chappell Music Scandinavia AB, 1994).
