Welcome to a new year!
Every year when we return from the holiday break we take time to review the expectations at Dothan Brook School. When children (and adults!) understand what is expected of them, they feel more comfortable and more successful. The holidays are a busy time for everyone, and often come with changes to a child's regular routines and expectations.
At DBS with believe it is important to take the time to slow down and review our school-wide expectations after extended breaks. This review allows all students, and staff, to settle back into the school environment and routine. This month will be an overall review, and for the next few months we'll be focusing on the individual components of Caring, Safe, and Responsible and what those look like at Dothan Brook School.
You can support your child this month by reviewing your family's expectations at home as well. When children have clear boundaries it provides them with a sense of security and support, reducing anxiety and giving children space to explore and learn safely.
