Cheers to a Happy New Year in 2022!
“Happy” may not be exactly how we're feeling about this "New Year" that we hoped had the promise of better days ahead. Just a week into the year and the Omicron variant (and another new one discovered just days ago in France), has thrown roadblocks in our way, once again. More restrictions for day to day living as well as for travel.

But, we're a "glass is half full" kind of group and we're convinced that there will be much better days to look forward to in 2022 and beyond!

Ever since this whole Covid mess began in earnest back in March 2020 we've had to adapt our way of doing business, think on our feet to find creative ways to assist our clients and dodge lots of obstacles that kept popping up on our pathway to recovery.

We totally understand how frustrating it must be for our clients to have to cancel and reschedule trips several times. Vacations dreamed about for a long time, celabrations, overdue visits to far-away family and friends; dancing around ever-changing government regulations, travel insurance policy questions like "What's covered and what's not?" and so on.

One thing that you can count on, that never wavers, and that is that we are here for you! You can rely on our trusted team of travel experts to help you find your way forward to some exciting travel experiences in 2022! It may be a long and winding road that we'll have to navigate together, but we're sure we'll reach the end and emerge into sunny skies.

Stop Dreaming and Let Us Create Your Best Days Ever!

Auld Lang Syne
- lyrics by Robert Burns (1759 – 1796)

Should auld acquaintance be forgot,
And never brought to mind?
Should auld acquaintance be forgot,
And auld lang syne?

(Chorus)
For auld lang syne, my jo,
For auld lang syne,
We’ll tak a cup o’ kindness yet,
For auld lang syne.

Listen to the Barra MacNeils beautiful version of Auld Lang Syne (original Scots lyrics and traditional melody)
Did you know? The Canadian-born bandleader Guy Lombardo helped make “Auld Lang Syne” a New Year’s Eve tradition in North America. His band, the Royal Canadians, played the song at the turn of the new year in a series of popular radio (and later television) broadcasts that began on December 31, 1929, and continued for more than 30 years.

We're in the middle of a deep freeze here in central and western Canada, with extreme cold warnings,  temperatures nearing -40C/F (yep, that's a minus in front of that number!) and closer to -50C/-58F when you factor in the wind chill. So, is it any wonder our minds are wandering to warmer places?! Maybe yours is, too?

Returning to Travel - Pearl McCallum

Coming to the end of 2021, another difficult year for travel, I think back over my time in the industry.  More than 20 years ago I went to college to become a travel agent because, well, I loved to travel.  The job was presented as hard work for little pay; but the idea of learning about and perhaps experiencing the world outweighed the drawbacks.  I was enchanted by the excitement of discovering exotic destinations, tasting different foods, and experiencing traditions unlike my own.
