Now that the holidays are over, maybe it's time to think about knitting something for yourself! January is a great time to get started on a "just for me" sweater project. So tonight I thought I'd share some ideas and inspiration - and all of these are perfect for first-time sweater knitters too!

Audrey's Cardigan

Audrey's Cardigan is a v-neck cardigan knit seamlessly from the top-down and features multiple options for body shaping. If you've never knit a sweater before, this is the perfect project for you - I have video tutorials that walk you through every step of the project! I cover it all, from picking a size and swatching to weaving in ends and blocking (and everything in-between).
We had a knitlong for this sweater in 2020, and you can see all of the finished sweater photos on this blog post! Click the button below for pattern details.

Ramona Cardigan

Ramona Cardigan is one of my most popular designs and is also knit top-down and seamlessly (so many of my videos for Audrey's Cardigan are helpful for this pattern as well!).
In one of my newsletters last year I featured this great photo from the yarn shop Henny's Yarn Shop in Michigan - they had hosted a knitalong for the Ramona Cardigan and some of their participants modeled their finished sweaters!

Carley Vest

For those of you who live in warm weather climates where a bulky-weight sweater might not be ideal, then maybe my Carley Vest might be just the thing! It's knit seamlessly from the bottom-up and is perfect for layering. It also features a couple of interesting little details like an icord edge split hem (which I have a video for) and an exposed three needle bind-off on the back.
At a gauge of 5 stitches to the inch, it's also super versatile in terms of yarn choices. You can use a DK or light/medium-worsted weight yarn, and it looks just as good in a cotton or linen as it does in a wool (so you have lots of options!). If you are on Ravelry, you can check out all of the finished projects in different yarns here. For pattern details on my website, click the button below:

I hope some of these ideas might inspire you to knit something special for yourself this month! Thanks so much for following along each week and I hope everyone has a wonderful weekend.
