In a nut-shell? Lots! Matt is already well underway with his next Tower. If you cast your minds back to last year’s October newsletter, you may remember we mentioned that the Tower of Cambridge was in the offing. Well, she’s off! Research phase DONE. Pencil phase STARTED. Hopefully we’ll have a sneak-peak to show you by February, but until then here’s two little tit-bits to whet your appetite: she’s going to be BIG…and…finished in black and white.

New for 2022 is our feature What do artists do all day? Matt often gets asked how he spends his time when he’s not painting (not least by dear, long-suffering Sarah!), so we thought we’d give you a little insight into his world. Fan fare, please!
#1: they pickle!

That’s right! When he’s not busy master-minding the architectural jigsaw of a new tower, Matt can be found pickling his home-grown/lain produce. Et voila! Pickled rainbow beets and eggs – lovely bar snacks to accompany an evening down at The Swinging Cat.

So, there you have it – the first month of the new year is well under way. Resolutions have probably been and gone, the gym routine already a slog, but let’s hope you’ve got some nice paintings on your wall to cheer what can sometimes feel like a long, bleak month…if not, we know a lovely little gallery that you can visit to remedy that situation!
