Membership Renewals - Last chance for discount

We offer members a chance to get a 10% discount on their membership fees if they renew by the middle of January so if you have not renewed yet, it is literally worth your while doing it in the next few days.   It also saves us chasing you to renew which is time consuming for everyone involved.   If you have sadly found that you are unable to renew this year, please contact membership@papercourt-sc.org.uk, as soon as possible to let us know, for the same reason.

Comms from the Commodore - New Year, New Projects

Your committee are looking to undertake some works around the club.   The first two projects for 2022, are to a)  look at smartening up the marquee on the front lawn which provides shelter from sun and rain and has proved invaluable during the last two years,  and b)  we are also undertaking some improvement works to the pathways in the boat parks during the next couple of months.

Social Committee

Our outgoing chair of the Social Committee Evelyn has done a great job building a team of volunteers for various events at the club, which has made a huge difference to the workload for the Social Committee for each event.   We now need a few new members on the Social Committee to mastermind a  programme for 2022.  Unfortunately the existing committee, whilst happy to continue and contribute, do not individually have time to take on the Chairmanship of the committee.   So we are looking for someone who loves organising and planning to step up.   If you would like to discuss the roles - either as a member of the committee or as Chair, please contact Jenny on snowmail@btinternet.com for a chat.   There will be plenty of support for anyone who takes on any of the Social roles.

The Boat Whisperer Talk - Wednesday 9th March

Don't forget to save the date for what is bound to be a fascinating talk.  Bookings will open on the social page of the website soon.

Quiz Night - There will be another of the Popular Quiz Nights coming in the Spring - watch this space for a date.

Tom's Sailing Sesh - Saturday 15th January 11.30 am

The next of Tom's amazing winter training dates is next Saturday.  This session will be entirely held outside - even the classroom bits, so will be weather dependent.  This is for adult sailors looking to improve their sailing skills, with racing techniques as well.  Please email training@papercourt-sc.org.uk to register.  There is no charge.

Still looking for a Film Maker

You don't need to be a professional, just looking for someone who could help out making some short information videos to help members.  Email Jenny on newsletter@papercourt-sc.org.uk if you could help.

Keys Found

A set of what look like house keys were found on the men's changing room floor last Sunday.   If you think they might be yours have a look in the drawer in the galley.

Gate and Door Codes
Codes will be changing on 1st February for the gates, sheds and clubhouse entry.   If you have a duty coming up soon please check your instructions.   If you need any of the other codes please contact a committee member who will be able to help you.

Duties

If you have now been allocated a duty for the January to June period, please don't forget to go to Duty Manager and confirm.  If you cannot do the duty allocated, please remember that you will need to find a substitute.   The best place to start is those who have a duty on a date near to yours and email or phone them to arrange a swap.

Guidance notes for the various duties are on the website - click button below, and you can go to Member Directory on the same page to find contact details to arrange swaps.

Thanks and best wishes, Duties team
