Distinguished Achievement Award

This award recognizes an individual of exceptional distinction and accomplishment from academia, government, or industry who has made outstanding and significant contributions to the field of urban entomology. The recipient delivers the Arnold Mallis Award Lecture at the 2022 conference and receives a plaque and monetary award. Deadline 2/14.

Student Scholarships

Up to three $1500 student scholarships will be awarded for the 2020 conference (one each at the PhD, MS, & BS levels). Each winner will deliver a paper at the conference and will be presented with the award at the Awards Luncheon during the conference. Deadline 2/14.

Student Travel Awards - NEW FOR 2022!!!

TEN $300 travel awards will be awarded to students to help defray the costs of attending the conference in Salt Lake City to present their papers. In addition, these students will receive complimentary registration. The travel award nominations will be due March 1st after the winners of the scholarships are notified. If a Student Scholarship winner wants to apply for a Travel Award, a different paper must be submitted and presented at the conference than the Scholarship paper. Deadline 3/1.

How to apply:

  1. Submit a paper title and abstract.
  2. Look through Proceedings from previous meetings and provide a max one page (total) summary of which three presenters you would like to meet or work with and why.

Paper submissions are now being accepted via ncue.submissions@gmail.com. The submission deadline for papers (both student competition and general paper presentations) is March 1, 2022. Papers may complement the symposia or represent any facet of urban entomology or invasive ant management. Information on paper submissions can be found here.
