LIBRARY OVERHAUL

Beginning in summer 2022, our board has started to review our library resources to ensure we are providing our members with materials that are relevant and appropriate. Please let us know if you notice pieces within a resource that is no longer appropriate, and use your discretion when selecting pieces from our resources. The document Songs with a Questionable Past is a great starting point to learn more about the history and context of a song.

BRAND NEW RESOURCES!

The Judy Sills Library of Music has large and growing collection of music resources for our members to borrow. Click HERE for the link to browse our list of resources that we have in our growing collection. When you are finished with a resource, please return it to our librarian Heather Kennedy (library@albertaorff.ca) at Florence Hallock School (EPSB).

The Laura Storey Collection

Laura Storey, one of our longtime Alberta Orff Chapter members, unexpectedly passed away in the spring of 2021. Her family, including brother and sister-in-law Neil and Regan MacGregor, have generously made a donation to the Alberta Orff Chapter to begin the Laura Storey Collection. Thank you MacGregor family for this generous donation! We will be purchasing resources in honour of Laura and her dedication to music education.
