Happy New Year! Welcome to the first WI newsletter of 2022! We're excited to be looking ahead to what's in the WI calendar this year. Scroll down for some key dates for your diary, upcoming campaigns, tasty recipes for veganuary and more!
What's in store for 2022? Dates for your diary 📅
This year HM The Queen will become the first British Monarch to celebrate a Platinum Jubilee. The WI is proud to be taking part in the celebrations in June and we'll have more details coming soon about how you can get involved. The Queen has been a member of the WI for an incredible 78 years having joined when she was still Princess Elizabeth.
International Women's Day (IWD) is coming up on Tuesday 8 March 2022. Every year the WI marks the day by joining women's marches, celebrating inspiring women and campaigning for equal rights for all women. Events to mark IWD will be taking place on the weekend before (5/6 March), so keep your eyes peeled as we'll be sharing ways you can take part soon!
Show the Love, The Climate Coalition's annual craftivism campaign will once again be running in February. From now until Valentine's Day, WI members and community groups around the UK will be turning red hearts green to show the love for all the things we want to protect against the effects of climate change. Find out how you can get involved here.
New year, new Denman courses!

Travel, astronomy and literature talks; cookery demos, craft-alongs and yoga classes... we've got it all on the agenda for Denman at Home, Denman on Demand and Denman on Tour this year! Browse all our courses here.

See the signs: Take action on our ovarian cancer campaign
At the end of 2021, we launched the action pack for our newest WI campaign, See the Signs, which seeks to raise awareness of the subtle signs and symptoms of ovarian cancer to help ensure that more women are diagnosed earlier. The action pack, available to download from our website includes ideas on how to take part in the campaign, detailed information on the symptoms of ovarian cancer, and guidance around what to do if you feel you might be experiencing one or more of the symptoms.

Download the action pack here.
Get involved in the Great Winter Get Together starting next week!
From 17 - 30 January, join the Jo Cox Foundation's UK-wide campaign to normalise talking about loneliness and show that there’s #NoShameInSharing. Anyone can take part - whether that’s by sharing your story, reaching out to someone else, or bringing people together. Sometimes the ‘smallest’ actions make the biggest difference.
Discover how you can be a part of it.
